DR. QUINN REUNION WEEK

CAST REMARKS

"He's not used to being around TV stars and major events. He was thinking it would be an event of cloying fans and catty TV personalities. That is what his imgination of such an event had led him to believe. So, he was truly shocked to find the whole evening so far above and beyond his expectations. To his honest shock, he found the people who came up and spoke to me to be coming from a tremendously sincere and honest place. He pointed out that whatever the show had put forth was responsible for the gathering of like minds, that on both the cast and the fan side, he saw nothing but kindness and grace and goodwill. Not what he expected. Rick was impressed with the amount of love and tenederness and honest caring in the room." ~Rick, friend of Helene Udy

"The whole thing started with Beth and her legacy of a loving contribution to the world which took life on a page, graduated to a production, morphed to an airwave and years later has continued it's life with all of you. Beth touched me at a very crucial point in my life and offered me an opportunity to contribute to the making of a message that most people thought would be too trite and sappy for the rest of the world to receive or show any interest in. Without those of you who welcomed and built on that message and proved it's importance not only to the network that doubted it (intially), but continue to support it, and continue to breathe life into it with wonderful gatherings such as these...Dr. Quinn would have had no life. As I said in my little moment with the microphone, it is such a wonderful and continual shock to be in a room of like minds. To receive letters from people who value the importance of a show with a wonderful and hopeful message about human potential and human love and honor. I have been nurtured by all of your efforts as people who have contributed to me, more than I could ever give back to all of you. Except to say that I thank you all for being part of the circle of love, and making me a part of it as well. As Jane so aptly put in her moment on the floor the word "fan" is not appropriate for the kind of people you have all shown yourselves to be. Your contribution to Dr. Quinn and certainly to me in particular has always felt more like a communion of like souls, than anything else. So...I thank you all for throwing your pebbles in. Together, it seems we are still making gloriously positive ripples. If and when I can contribute again, please let me know. I will always look forward to seeing you all again. But next time, I think we should separate the tables so that I can talk to all of you. I see those other old dogs all the time, we live in the same town, and all I have to do is pick up the phone. But some of you came from so far away and it would have been nice to see more of you..." Fondest, ~Helene Udy
